Do I need a driving licence?
Yes — every buggy and quad, whether a rental or a safari tour, is self-drive. You'll need a valid, normal (non-professional) driving licence.
What's the minimum age?
It depends on the vehicle and operator — generally 21+, sometimes 23+ for the larger buggies. Message us with your group's ages and we'll confirm exactly what you qualify for.
Is it easy to drive?
Yes — automatic, no experience needed. On safari tours you'll get a safety briefing and follow a guide in convoy before setting off.
Is there a deposit?
For rentals, yes — a refundable €300 security deposit, returned in full when the vehicle comes back in good shape. It can be a hold on your card (not charged) or cash left at the office, whichever you prefer. Safari tours require no security deposit.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Cancellation and no-show terms depend on the operator that fulfils your booking. We confirm them to you in writing on WhatsApp at the time of booking.
Do you pick up from my hotel?
Yes. Free hotel pickup and drop-off is included with rentals, and free hotel pickup is included with safari tours.
Can I rent a 4-seater buggy?
Yes — we now have 4-seater buggies for self-drive rental, from €250 per day. The fleet is small (2 vehicles), so message us to confirm availability before you book. Prices, safari options and the deposit are on the 4-seater buggy page.
Do you do multi-day rentals? Is it cheaper?
Yes, and yes — the day rate drops when you keep the vehicle longer. A four-day buggy rental works out around €600 instead of €720 at the daily rate, and quads come down to about €90 a day over three days and €80 a day over five. Exact multi-day prices depend on the vehicle and the dates, so message us with what you need and we’ll come back with the real figure.
What are the rental hours? Can I keep it later, or overnight?
A standard rental day runs from 9am to between 4pm and 5pm, depending on the vehicle and the operator. An evening return or an overnight rental is possible on some vehicles — on some there’s a small extra charge, on others there isn’t. Tell us the hours you want when you message and we’ll confirm the vehicle and the exact price before you book.
Can I rent for just a few hours, or half a day?
No — a self-drive rental is a full day, and every operator we work with prices it that way. You can still bring it back early; the price is the same. If a few hours of driving is all you want, the 2.5–3 hour guided safari is the short option, from €80 per quad and €110 per 2-seater buggy.
How far ahead should I book?
As early as you can. The fleets here are small — there are only two 4-seaters in the whole network, and the 2- and 3-seaters go first in the summer. Same-day and next-day is sometimes possible and we’ll always check, but the vehicle you actually want is much more likely to be free if you message us a few days out.
Can you sort out a big group?
Yes. Bigger groups go out in a convoy of several vehicles rather than one, so a group of ten or more is normal — we’ve put fourteen people out together. Tell us how many of you there are, the date, and how many can drive, and we’ll check across our operators and come back with what works.
Am I insured? What if the buggy gets damaged?
Third-party insurance is included on every rental — that covers damage to other people and their property. Cyprus law doesn’t allow full collision cover on these vehicles, so damage to the buggy itself is down to the driver: the security deposit is used first, and anything above it is settled directly with the operator. Every rental company on the island works this way. In practice it means sticking to the routes we send you and taking the tracks steadily.
Can I drive to the Blue Lagoon on a rental?
No. The buggy road to the Blue Lagoon is closed, and the Blue Lagoon sits past Lara Beach at the tip of the Akamas — outside the area rental agreements cover. No operator we work with permits it on a self-drive rental. On a rental you can reach Adonis Baths, the Sea Caves, the Edro III shipwreck and Avakas Gorge; Lara Bay is allowed on some vehicles. Tell us where you want to go before you book and we’ll say what’s permitted on the vehicle you want.
Can I bring children on a rental?
Yes, as passengers at any age — an adult holds the licence and drives, children ride along. There’s no minimum age for a child passenger. Booster seats are free and we arrange them when you book, so tell us your children’s ages and we’ll have the right seats waiting. How many children fit is set by the vehicle: a 3-seater takes one row of three, a 4-seater takes two rows of two.
